Transmission problem
1997 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 130K miles

My wife's car has been cutting off at stop signs/lights, but starts right back up. I've replaced the plugs, wires, coil, fuel filter, alternator, motor mounts. Still the same deal. Usually dies when slowing or at idle. Its shifting funny now, and lately has even been reving when she's slowing down sometimes. When u press the gas it sometimes hesitates as well. I was thinking it might be the torque converter, and someone mentioned a cutoff switch? Was wondering if you might have some insight as to what might be the problem. Thanks for your time

To add.

Also, I think the check engine light comes on for a second when it dies but then goes back off. Pepboys tested it and didn't get any codes. Some days it seems to run better then others but it doesn't seem to matter the weather conditions. Seems to be getting worse now though
