Well the car jumped timing after I replaced the water pump and I know for a fact that when I changed it the timing was fine when I put it back together cause it started and ran for a split second. I was wanting to know the chances of it not have b ent my valves when that happened. The car has a 2.4 loter dohc motor in it

Well it is an interference engine, meaning if the belt was to jump or break that it would allow the valves to hit the pistons. Only way to know for sure is to tear it apart and inspect it.

Just replaced my timing belt and if the camshaft both on top moved that will cause to miss you have to go back and follow instructions in manual, what a place to put that water pump. Remember they have to turn a certain way and lineup correct.
