Im thinking about purchasing a stealth without the turbo and getting it installed after anyone know how much it will cost around or how much work is needed to be done?

I just bought a 93 basic dodge stealth w the same intentions but the guy I bought it from says unless you fine parts cars to salvage the parts off it can be very expensive he was saying like $+2000 w parts and labor. Ive been looking at ebay there is a store on there which has over 3000 dodge stealths which are are parted out. Its called MikesAutosUSA. Just remember buy a repair manual for car and you get what you pay for I bought mine for cheap but im having to put a lot of work into it. Good luck and just a warning the sohc non turbo engines are notorious for enine problems. Mine has 130,000 miles and im getting ready to take it apart and rebuild it keep eye on valve covers and gaskets.

It will probably be less trouble for you.I dont know how mechanically inclined you are but try buying the repair manual(chiltons is awesome) then find a friend who can help you. Im just starting to learn my self and find it fun to tinker w my car under some guidance. Good luck. Check around for a good deal on a non turbo car.I bought mine(93 stealth) for 750 dollars which is a steal.I was just trying to warn you that it will take some work and help to get it done(you might look for a wrecked twin turbo and swap engines out although that can be expensive unless you get lucky. The turbo has a dohc which would give you a little more power as apposed to a sohc w a turbo on it. Also there are other things you can do to gain power besides adding a turbo(adding a super charger. Cold air intake performance fuel pump, heavier injectors custom torque converter. Performance ehaust.) Check around. Thats why I love my car even w its problems. Ive seen the finished product and with a little money and determination and imangination. This is going to be one cool car. If you buy the turbo. Remember some come w awd better suspension and better stock horse power and torque. How much were you looking to spend on either version. Check craigslist. Com autos section

You shouldnt have any trouble finding finding either model in that price range may need some work but nothing not manageable. Check out craigslist. There is allways a couple on there. Keep an eye out for engine problems in the non turbo models. Especially valve cover valve cover gasket. Head and head gasket ehaust manifold. Etc. Ive also heard that the stock torque converters and the linkange arent very good. Of course it all depends on how well the car was maintained and taken care of. Look for one with low mileage and service records. Good luck to you
