Hello, I have a 2005 Ram, with 45,000 miles. When Im driving and get off the gas to slow for a light ahead or traffic and go to give it some gas to speed up it jerks 3 or 4 times until it reaches 55 mph. The funny thing is it only does it when I take my foot off the gas and my speed comes down to around 35 and go to give it some throttle.. Also the idle runs real rough, more like a slight miss every one or two seconds. Ive changed the plugs, airfilter, and had the fuel system cleaned. Any help is appreciated.

Is your check engine light on? If yes have the codes read, if they come up as a engine lean bank 1 and or 2, especially P0171 and 174 you could need some work as listed in a Dodge TSB May need a reprogram of the computer. PCM flash if it's a 5.7 built before 2/21/2005.

You may have a vacuum leak, get a can of spray gumout, spray the vac lines and maniflod area, when the idle changes, youve found the leak! You want the engine running and spray on the outside but do direct the stream onto the hoses, if it is a vacuum leak, the engine idle will change speed, then you have detected a leak, repair the vacuum leak and see how it runs! Check operation of the EGR.
