2003 Dodge Ram idle inconsistent

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup - I have never had one problem out of it. I bought it new. Lately it has been acting up when I slow to a stop. As I slow the rpm spike up a bit - not too much just maybe up 500 rpms. Then, when I stop the idle drops quicky alomost to the point of shutting off, but then it catches itself and idles back to normal. Although a couple of times it has shut off completely, but then I restart the motor with no problems. What do you think it is? The engine light has not come on.

My ram did the same thing but the check engine light came on I took it to the parts store where they scanned it it was the idle air sensor I have been waiting on a replacement part cause it had to be ordered
