2002 Dodge Ram Check engine light

I have a 02 ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.9l and the check engine light is on. I noticed it went on while I was towing a trailer hooked up the the stock 4 prong plug under the truck. The code is p0601 and says its internal computer module failure. It randomly went off once and I hooked the trailer back up and its back on and now wont go off. Im wonder any ideas on what might be the problem or even what the icm on my truck controls because I havent notcied anything different at all. Thanks for the help

Possible Causes
PCM

Testing

Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P0601: PCM INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE does not exist, no problem is indicated at this time. Test is complete. If DTC P0601: PCM INTERNAL CONTROLLER FAILURE exists, replace and program the Powertrain Control Module
