2001 Dodge Ram idot light

Yes i'm an idiot. Grin. Borrowing a friends truck, he's out of town. The first light on the panel is coming on and I don't have a manual. Is this the check engine soon light or something more serious. And if it is check engine soon, does it want a tune up? Finicky truck. The light is next to the fill gas tank light. Duh. And looks like an engine, or a submarine. What ever happened to the days where it would just tell you? Thanks in advance for the answer, would rather look like an idiot online than in a repair shop.

LOL. Better to go in informed. A submarine? Sounds like it is the check engine light. Did you by chance put gas in it? If so be sure the gas cap is on correctly, that can set a light. Otherwise you will need to get it scanned to see what the code is and get back to me, so we can figure it out
