2001 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Last week truck went dead, got jump and it ran for 2 days. Went out and dead again. This time would not take a jump at all. Got a new battery(2 yo battery was dead) and truck still wont start. Alarm only thing working and it will click a couple of times before nothing happens at all. What could ruin old battery and prevent new battery from starting truck?

Well the alternator is probably not charging the battery, is there a battery light on? Or voltage light on?
