My truck skips very bad when it is idling. The engine light is on. And the code says that one of the cyclinders is misfiring. But I put in new wire and a distributer cap in. When the truck is moing between 25 - 30 mph it will also make a light popping noise

Did you replace the wires and the rotor?

Hi:
If everything is new, I need you to pull the plug from that cylender and let me know what it looks like and while the plug is out, do a compression test on that cylender. The popping noise is making me wonder if you have a burnt valve.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
