1995 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I volunteer at a local church and they have a used 1995
Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 L that another volunteer attempted to replace the distributor cap and they broke off one of the distributor cap mounting screws. Do I have to remove the intake to gain acess to the distributor or can I drill out the broken screw with the distributor in place? Any suggestions would be helpful.

You should be able to drill it out without removing the distributor. You may need a right angle drill. If I remember correctly, the distributor on the 5.2 is in the rear. Are you able to access it?
