I was driving it for 20 minutes (clear day, no rain or snow, 45 degrees out) when a horrible burnt rubber smell started coming into the car. Eventually I saw smoke over the right tire/right side of the hood. I made it home 20 minutes later and the smell was horrific and seemed to come from the tire. I looked under the hood and nothing seemed to be the cause of the burning smell. A day later I drove it without a problem. What could that have been?

Hi there,

I would check under the car and look for any evidence of a plastic bag or such that may have melted on the exhaust, you may have pick up something on the road with out seeing and it has stuck to the hot exhaust and has now burnt off.
