1998 Neon- cooling system problem

I have a 1998 Dodge Neon, with 83,000 miles, a 2.0 SOHC. I have found oil in my radiator, and that would indicate a head gasket problem. However, there is no coolant in the crankcase, or dipstick area. If it was the head gasket, wouldn't it be both? What else could it be if it isn't the head gasket?

Are you sure it's engine oil and not tranny fluid? Any problems with overheating, etc? If the car is not skipping when you first crank it up and it's not "blowing" the coolant out, then you may have a leak in your trans cooler in the radiator. This is a common problem.
