About a year ago my check engine light went on and I was quickly losing power. I pulled into local station, he tested it, showed me code and replaced sensor. Today the check engine light went on again but car drove smoothly. I immediately came home. I have been back to same mechanic since for inspection and was unhappy with something he said. He doesn't have a great reputation but is a block from my house. I feel uncomfortable driving any distance. If he does the computer read again, can I trust him when he shows me the results or should I have AAA tow me to another garage?

Your best shot to save money go to Autozone they'll pull the code/s from the computer this will tell you what's causing the CEL to come on and its your starting point of diagnosis-
