1995 Dodge Neon 4 cyl

My friend and I both have a 1995 Dodge Neon. We are both having the same problems with our car. The car will randomly just stall while we are driving it. For her car it starts right back up again but stalls later down the road. My car will take anywhere from half an hour to a full hour just to have it start again. The car sounds like it wants to start but it won't flip over. She replaced the fuel filter and it still has these problems. I've been told it might be the fuel pump, the powertrain, or the coil pack. Do you have any ideas what it might be?

Did you have a check engine light come on or has flashed prior to this problem and when was your last tune-up?

Do below to determine whether it's fuel or spark issue:

Cranks but no start condition:

Fuel and Spark:
Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it.
