I have a 2002 dodge intrepid that has 84,000 miles. The problem that I am having is when I am stoped at a stop light or just ideling the oil light will come on very dim. I have checked the oil level and it is fine. As soon as I push on the gas the light goes off. Could it be a clogged oil filter, or is the oil pump going out?

Same problem with a 2000, 2.7. Light comes on at idle, oil is full and clean. Anyone have a solution?

This is caused by a bad oil pressure switch. Its a common problem with these. Rare cases have low oil pressure.
