2002 Dodge Intrepid engine light comes on

Engine light comes on randomly while driving. First couple times car would "sputter" but then drive normal. For the past week have had episodes where it wonl't start right away. After a few tries (it turns over but won't start) I leave it for a few minutes and then come back and it start on the first try. This has happened 3 times in the past week. I have taken it to my mechanic twice (both times the light is not on) and he replaced the plugs the first time but found nothing wrong with it. My son has his road test on Monday and I don't want him to have any problems!

If the check engine light has come on, the computer should have a stored trouble code in it. Take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan it for you. Most will do it for free, so there is no money out of pocket.
