Electrical problem
2002 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Automatic 118000 miles

My check engine light came on about 2 weeks ago and has about 120,000 miles on it. I had my system scanned for the check engine light and the code P0700 came up which is "transmission system control malfunction" and every so often my car will die out when in drive but barely touching the gas or just idling in drive it starts up with no problem so just wondering if that has anything to do with it and what transmission system control malfunction means, thank you.

There is at least one diagnostic fault code memorized in the Transmission Computer. Since it has no warning light, it asks the Engine Computer to turn the Check Engine light on. You'll need to find a mechanic with a hand-held computer, called a scanner, to access the Transmission Computer to read the code(s). Code 700 just means the Engine Computer knows the Transmission Computer has something to say.
