Noises problem
2002 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I HAVE A 2002 DODGE INTREPID 3.5 ENGINE IS MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE LIKE IS OIL IS NOT LUBRICATING UP.I CHECK THE OIL PUMP AND IT HAVES PRESSURE AND DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO

Hi:
A knock in the engine isn't good news. It could be a main bearing or rod bearing. Also, it could be something in the transmission or a bad accessory. You could remove the serp belt and start the car to see if the sound is still there. If it goes away, the problem is one of the belt driven accessories. However, do not allow the car run more than a few seconds. It will overheat and may cause more damage.
