2001 Dodge Intrepid engine light on

Car is running fine I will say great but the engine light is on I took it to auto zone they told me the gas cap need to be replace I bought it and the light still on

Did they reset the light for you? If they recommended a fuel cap, chances are the code indicated an EVAP leak. Did they tell you what code it was ir if it was a large or small leak?
