I have 2 problems. One is that I know that there is a problem where my check engine light has detected a leak some where near my fuel tank from what the dealership mentioned. Second my water pump had been replaced after realizing that possibly that the head gasket have been blowed. Should I go ahead and replace entire engine or do try to fix the head gaskets?

It all depends what you can get an engine for, also the dealer charges whey more than a regular shop who is more than qualified to do the job. So get yourself a second opinion or even third, . So really back to the question, if you can get a used engine for around a thousand dollars I would do the engine, but do what I said and get two other opinions, dealers will tell you that you need and engine, just because you have some oil leaking out of the dipstick
