Brakes problem
2001 Dodge Intrepid

i have stripped the thread in one of the holes to the caliper on drivers side bare with me I am a 45 yr old female who has done many brakes but this time I screwed up. Can I rethread the hole a put a slight bigger bolt in the caliper

Hi:
You have two options. First, you can't place a larger bolt in it because the caliper is designed to slide and a larger bolt won't fit. So, you can purchase a helicoil for it. Drill out the stripped hole and rethread it for a heilicoil. Or they make a replacement bolt for this exact problem that is self tapping into the stripped hole, but the slide is the same as the orig.

I would recommend the replacement bolt. Just call the parts store and tell them the situation and what you are looking for.
