Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I just replaced the belt on my car about a month ago. It started squeaking on and off about a week ago. Then It broke. I'm not sure why? There has also been a lifter sticking so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

The lifter has nothing to do with the belt, so don't worry about that. As far as the belt, either one of the accessories (alt, PS pump...) are locking up, the belt alignment was off, or the tensionier is bad and not keeping tension on the belt which may have caused it to fall off and get damaged.

Have you checked for any of those things?
