1994 Dodge Intrepid No acceleration

I was waiting at a stop light and on green light I accelerated to turn left and car would barely move but engine was racing. I shifted into reverse since there were no cars behind me to get out of the busy intersection. Then I shifted into drive and accelerated and the car drove normally. Is this a problem with the transmission? I have not had any major problems with this car.

Hi sherri21
It would seem your trans went into neutral then got it's act together after you put it in Rev. Your trans is computer controled and it is self diagnostic so you have that option to take it to trans shop have it coded. But before that have you checked fluid level?
Has the filter and fluid ever been changed? Reccomend a fluid & filter change.
