Transmission Tempature Light Came on.

I have never seen a Transmission tempature light, let alone have one come one.
I have a 2000 Dodge Durango with 78,050 miles,
it has a V8 dodge magnum engine.
Now it happened yesterday on the way home from work, while it was still raging hot out side, plus we were running the air conditioner. Pulled over right away to start checking fluid levels. Which all seem to be perfect. Nothing is too low or too high and all the fluids look pretty fresh. Although I am coming up on an oil change. So really, does anyone have a clue as to what could have made this light come on. After about 20 minutes of staring at the engine dumb founded with all the fluid levels fine. I got back in and drove home, and to work today without a single hitch. Plus no light. Any clues?

Not sure really, I have only had the truck for a few months now. So I am not sure if the place where I bought it from did a change or if the previous owners did it?
I was thinking that it was just dirty and maybe needed to be changed too. But what does dirty transmission fluid look like?
The fluid in there still looks red, a little on the clearish red side, but it doesn't look like it has any crap in it.

This same thing happend to me this morning in my 2000 Dakota 4x4. It happened after I exited the highway and slowed down.

I figured the fluid level may have been low so I pulled over and checked but it was fine. I have only owned the truck for about 3 days now so I don't know if the transmission has ever been serviced.

What would cause the tranny to get hot like this with the fluid level being fine?
