Hey there thanks for all your help finding my problem with my truck. What does the o2 sensor actually do for my truck? The one behind the catalitic converter. Does it affect the truck if I dont change it?

The o2 sensor helps adjust the fuel to air mixture by monitoring hte amount of fuel in the air coming out in the exhaust by electric currents. If it detects to lean fuel to air it increases the amount of fuel to air mixture. If too rich of fuel it decreases. Yes it is important.
