Dodge Dakota front differential fail

I went offroading on my truck it went really good but I got on belly and got stuck front wheels bearly touched the ground we tried back and forward for about 10 minuets it did not move then I saw that oil started to leak looked under my differential was facing down all mounts broke why could that happen? I can send a picture if needed thanks

Probably because when you hit the belly it broke it off the mounts and if it is stock no skid plates or protection to speak of. Check your engine mounting as that may be bad as well. See pic

You had to hit something either the wheels and it did it or when you were on the belly of the truck. It is 12 yrs old and you broke the case so if it did not hit then the gears had a problem, locked up, broke the case and now do not work. I am sure if you open the front differential up you are going to find broken pieces all over.
