1988 Dodge Dakota loss of power

My 88 dakota is having an extreme loss of power at random times. Ive checked egr, evap, ignition, timing, injection, computer, and other various components. What could be a likely cause?

My 89 Dakota suddenly lost power above about 40 MPH. Couldn't hardly climb a hill or pull my boat. A real pro found a small leak in one of the vacuum hoses to the computer. He also said a timing light will not work in this situation. Thought this might give you some ideas.
