Whenever I turn on my car it makes a noice like a wistling noice. I think it comes from the timing belt im not sure. And I feel like when I push the gas the engine doesnt respond like it should. And also my transmission kicks very often when it changes gear. Please let me know if I need to service my car before something goes wrong and I have to spend more money.

Hi:
First, the noise won't come from the timing belt because it is ribbed to not slip. Next, chances are it is the serp belt that is making the noise (the one belt that runs the alt, PS. With the engine running, open the hood and pour a small amount of water on the belt to see if it changes sounds. If it does, that is the problem. NOTE: Wear old clothes and protect your eyes because water will most likely splash you.

Next, I'm not sure I understand what the trans is doing. However, with the mileage on the vehicle, it should have been serviced by now. If you haven't done so, try that first.

Let me know what you find.
Joe
