A/C Compressor

I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport with a 3.3 V6 and it has 102000 miles.
My question is why would my A/C Compressor constantly go bad. I have had the car for 3 years and have had the compressor replaced 4 times. The van has had 7 new compressors in it's lifetime. I now have to replace it one more time. This will be number 8. Every time I take it to the dealer they tell me that I have metal shavings in the lubricant. It seems to me that something is causing the shavings to appear. Is there something that I can do to prevent this?

There is really is noway to prevent it other than installing the compressor the right way. The a/c system needs to be flushed very well. The receiver dryer needs replaced and the expantion valve. Then flush lines, condensor, evaporator. This will get all metel shavings out so that it will not destroy anymore compressors. They probably haven't ever flushed out system. If all the shavings don't get removed it is going to keep eating compressors.

Hope this information helps.
