My engine idles rough. When in park and I press on gas to idle engine it misses. When I was driving on the f/w last night and trying to accelerate to 65 it was "missing" again kind of a "bump da bump" and then it began accelerating. 3 mechanics - 3 different answers - major tune up, just change plugs and wires, fuel injection cleaning. Any suggestions?

All of the above. Your wires could be bad, also check idle air control valve and map sensor. Get back to me with your findings

The check engine light just came on today and it's running rougher so to the shop it goes first thing in the morning. Thanks for the confirmation. Do you think my catalytic converter is an issue too?

No I don't think so, you can always go to autozone first to get free diagnostics done on your car, then you will get another confirmation to knowing what is ailing your car. That way you won't get ripped off.

Thanks for responding. I took it to the shop, the owner plugged into the computer in the car and the code came back "cylinder 3 misfiring" so a tune up is what I'm getting.
