PO455 -- Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)

Somewhere in the fuel system evap system there is a large air leak allowing fumes to enter the air. This is what I suggest. Check the filler tube, fuel cap, and any breathers you can find near the tank for leaks. If you can't see any, you need to do the following:

Take the car to a shop to have the EVAP system fogged. They will actually pump fog into the EVAP system and where the leak is located, the fog will come out. Thus you can see where the leak is. Without using the fog, it is difficult to find the leak. However it is a "gross leak" I would check the breather that is attached to the filler tube under the car. You may get lucky.

Let me know what you find, and thanks for using 2carpros. Com.
