Shimmy/vibration ususally kicks in a little after 80mpg, but if the highway is less that perfect, can kick ing around 75. If I let off accelerator to either cruise or slow down, it still vibrates until speed is down to about 75.

Driving on Michilen Hydroedge 215/60/R17 that have about 45000 miles on them. Tires appear to be ok, except 1 of the rear tires has a knot on the side. From the feel in the steering wheel, I wouldn't think the problem would be due to a rear tire. However, tires have not been balanced since intitial installation.

I would get that tire with the Knot in the side checked out real fast....sidewalls on tires is where they get the their strength. Your looking at a possible serious blow out.

As far as the wobble goes, It could be out of balanced tires, or a bad axel/cv joint. They run about 130-150 to change out. Might be a bad hub.
Try the Balance out first, then ask for the axles to be looked at.
