The driver side sliding door lock on my 2001 caravan won't lock, with either the door lock switch or the key fob. The other three doors responed the the switch or fob. When I try to manually push the door lock button down it wont move. Is there anything I can try to fix this problem?

Hi:
I would guess the solenoid is bad, but the linkage may have bound. You need to remove the door panel so you can inspect the linkage and check to make sure the solenoid is getting power.

Let me know what you find.

I pulled the door panel to see if the linkage was bound up. The linkage wont move, it seems to be stuck.I was thinking of disconecting the electrical connection to the solinod and the trying to move the linkage so I can manually lock and unlock the door.

Hi:
Give that a try and see if it works. If it doesn't, the solenoid may have actually frozen in one position.

Let me know what you find.
