2000 Dodge Caravan Briggs & Stratton

My Caravan sounds just like a Briggs & Stratton lawn mower when I can get it started. We were on our way home. About 11 miles to go and we heard a really loud flapping sound. Pulled over to check it out and the van stalled. When I got it restarted, it sounded like a lawn mower and shook violently. There is a really bad raw fuel smell fro it as well. What do you think from the sound of the question?
