PO700 IS JUST A REFERENCE WHEN YOUR FROM THE ENGINE COMPUTER TO LET YOU KNOW THERE IS CODES IN THE TRANS MODULE. IT NEEDS TO BE SCANNED ON THE TRANS SIDE. IS THE TRANS NOT SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR? IF SO, IT IS IN LIMP MODE.

P0704 CLUTCH SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. I WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE IT IS JUST A SHIFT SOLENOID, BUT I QUESTION IT MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH TCM.

HAVE THE TCM CHECKED TO DETERMINE IF IT IS OKAY BEFORE REPLACING THE SOLENID.

I have no shifting problems that is what bugs me the most. Is the tcm the one on housing or is it internal? And the shift module you say. Where is that? Just hate to pay big bucks for something that I may be able to do myself.

The TCM is right above the trans pan (front). It has an aluminum base with a black plastic cover the always seem to leak.

The shift solenoids are in the trans. You can access them by removing the trans pan.

I have a question. Before replacing anything, is the transmission doing anything out of the ordinary?

Let me know.

I have no problems that I have noticed.I was doing a tune up noticed the light was on which it had come on before but for evap which I beleive was just the gas cap. When I hooked it up I had the two trans codes and a egr which I change and that code went away seems to be acting ok. Did have a problem with the cruise not kicking it self down on hill. But the egr seemed to fix that

Try deleting the trans codes to see if they come back. It may have had a bad connection that fixed itself.

You have me stumpped. The code you have should force the trans into limp mode. What solenoid did you refer to replacing in the first posting?

It could be coming from the TCM. However, I would recommend having it checked befor replacing it.

Let me know.

Had it diagnosed today. It was the torque converter. They wanted 635.00 to change and tried to sell me the converter for 225. At a discount. Lol order one today for 135.00 and so the fun begins with the change out. Said there was very little room for the torque to slip and that mine was triple the amount and showed me that all solenoids were working. So I just want to thank you for all the advice and relay this to anyone who maybe has similar problems. Once again thank you
