I own a 1998 dodge caravan and over the summer the wife put the AC on and the car would stall for about 4 days after! Then this problem went away for a while. We stopped using the AC and it still stalls at idle! It also jerks not a severe jerk but sorts of stumbles a little when it goes steady between 40 and 50 mph. I then would spray some carburettor cleaner in the throttle body housing and it would run fine for about 3 weeks. So I took it apart and really cleaned it well even where the air flow motor goes in the housing. It lasted about 3 days and started stalling again at idle. I took it to The Dodge dealership and they said it was the throttle position sensor and 2 oxygen sensors, and fuel filter so I had them changed and it lasted for about4 days and tonight at a stop light the van stalled. Also I want to add that when it stalls it starts rite back up Where do I go from here? Thanks

Do you have a check engine light On or has flashed before.

Lets check the fuel pressure fuel pump could be failing or the regulator. When it checks out-find the EGR and clean it out. Remember am not with the vehicle I will take a shot with the idle air control motor/valve replacing it.

This guide can help

The dealer has check the others I had in mind.

To find the problem is to wait for it to stall and immediately check for spark and fuel one of this two is gonna be missing or both.

Chyrsler uses in their products called auto shutdown relay ASD relay-when this relay is failing in a system that has it-You will loose power to the coil/injector/s and fuel pump. You might want to check on it.

Okay Mr. DEW

Lets get down to business you paid for it. Get a fuel pressure gauge or rent one and hook it up and monitor it and comeback with the readings

When engine is running record the reading, find the the pressure regulator vacuum hose disconnect and plug it, record the readings. I'll be waiting for it so we can continue to the next phase.
