1993 Dodge Caravan low voltage

I ran the codes and got a code 41 alternator field not switching properly, an open or shorted condition detected in the alternator field control circuit. i have replaced the SMEC / SBEC . what am i missing?

What you're missing is the other 90 percent of the circuit. The two most common causes of a no-charge condition in a Chrysler product are worn brushes inside the alternator and corroded pins in electrical connectors.
