how do I remove the rear exhaust manifold so that I can remove the rear head?

If I remember correctly it is easiest from underneath with a long extension. Might have to remove a heat shield to get to the bolts too. Those vans arent the best DIY projects, especially the heads.

Tell me about it. Cant you just take the hood off and get them from up top?

Yes, they can be gotten from the top or bottom. Dont think hood removal really gives you any room though, but if it makes it easier for you. Go for it is this a 3.3 l?

Yes sir it is. I punched my van when going up a hill all of a sudden I heard a clunk and it sounded like the chain was being dragged against the teeth and it shut off, and I was able to start it again and it sounded like it didn;t want to stay started, and you could hear what sounded like a wooden spoon tapping against an alluminum pan. I was able to barely make it home because I was only two blocks away, I dont believe I caused any more damage besides the one exhaust valve. I can just buy the valve and pop it in when I get everything apart right? I dont have to have it grinded or anything?
