Took car to dealership for the Automatic Emergency Braking system constantly illuminating an error light and displaying “front radar obstructed” message. When they plugged the car into their diagnostic scanner they were unable to connect to both the distance sensor (radar) and the ECM. The were however able to pull up that I had a low tire light come on last week and that my rear hatch had hit something while closing recently so I guess they were still able to connect to the body control module. They said it would take at least three hours and $400.00 to further diagnose the issue.

Other than the constant error light for the auto braking the car runs fine and the service engine light has never come on while I’ve owned it. Where do I start looking?

Hello and thank you for using 2CarPros. Do you have the specific codes they pulled? If there are "U" codes then there is a fault in the network. If they can not communicate with that module then three hours is reasonable to diagnose.

Unfortunately unless you can give us specific codes it makes it harder to guide you. You may just need to reset the system but unfortunately you need there system to do that? I would recommend you find an independent Nissan tech to give you a second opinion.
