The retainer ring that is supposed to be on the timing cover that the seal connects to isn't there. What's the part called and where can I get it? I left a reply with a picture and question for this post.

See where the arrows point, isn't there supposed to be a retainer ring there that the crankshaft seal connects to? What's it called and where can I purchase one?

See no oil pump or anything for the seal to connect to. Please advise. I am lost.

Hi,

The seal is located behind the crankshaft bottom timing gear. I attached the directions for replacement. You will need to remove the timing belt. Let me know if you need help with that as well.

The directions are below. Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Well Joe, got the seal in and put it all back together and now it won't start.
Do you think I threw the timing off? I tried keeping it on TDC. Let me know please.

Hi,

It's possible. Does it give any indication that it is firing? Also, could you record it cranking and upload it for me to hear? I can usually tell if there is a timing issue.

Let me know. Hang in there, if the timing is the issue, we will get it fixed.

I will watch for your reply.

Joe
