I have replaced the fuel filter because of bad gas and ever since once it gets down to a 1/4 tank of gas it wants to bog down. When making left turns I was down to a quarter tank and stopped to get gas put a total of nine gallons of gas in and it cranks but does not run long enough to get it in drive. I can hear the fuel pump when turning on the switch. What could be the problem?

There is two possibilities. If the engine runs for about two seconds, then stops, it is likely in anti-theft mode. To disarm it, unlock either front door with the key, or with the key fob if you have one.

If the battery was recently disconnected or run dead, the Engine Computer needs to relearn "minimum throttle" before it will know when it must be in control of idle speed. A very specific set of conditions must exist for that relearn to take place. To meet those conditions, drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the pedals.

You will need to hold the accelerator pedal down 1/4" to keep the engine running. Until minimum throttle is relearned, the engine will also tend to stall at stop signs.

Yep a bad MAP can cause all kinds of issues. Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken
