Hi I have a land rover discovery 300tdi 1996. It has an overheating problem. I have changed a couple of the radiator hoses, waterpump, thermostat and the fan. I have pulled the radiator out and had it flushed out. There is no obvious signs of head gasket gone no water oil mix. Not spiitoling water out the exhaust. But filler tank expands and causes water to push out it. Any ideas

Your last sentence is the secret to a leaking cylinder head gasket. Mixing of oil and coolant is the least common symptom and occurs only very rarely. To verify this, your mechanic can perform a chemical test at the radiator that takes just a few minutes. It involves drawing air from the radiator, while the engine is running, through a glass cylinder with two chambers partially-filled with a special dark blue liquid. If combustion gases are present, the liquid will turn bright yellow.
