After driving for about 20 to 30 minutes, the dashboard coolant light come on. The fluid in the surge tank is full. The light will go off, by then after 10 minutes come back on. The temperature gauge hand does not indicate that my car is running hot. Am I doing any damage by continuing to drive?

Hi,

More than likely this is the coolant level sensor. Can you take a picture of the light just to make sure?

If I am correct it is probably just the sensor. You have to replace the tank in order to replace the sensor.

This is not going to do any damage as long as the coolant actually stays full. Clearly this sensor is there to let you know that you are low on coolant but if you check the level regularly then there is nothing to worry about.

Here is the procedure to replace it. Let me know if you have more questions and send me a picture of the light just to be sure. Thanks
