The temperature has been going over 200 degrees while at stop light. At what temperature are the fans supposed to kick on? When I run the A/C the temperature will drop down to 200 degrees.

Hi,

The cooling system thermostat doesn't fully open until 195 degrees F. Therefore, 200 F really isn't a concern if you are not moving.

If you look at the attached pics below, they identify what temps and conditions require the fan to turn on. The fan is controlled by the powertrain control module which receives signals from several different sensors. Note that the fans can run at different speeds based on conditions.

This leads me to ask, do the fans turn on at a certain point, or do they only work when the A/C is turned on? Also, has the vehicle overheated at any point?

Let me know.
