Coolant fan not operating automatically

Coolant fan is not operating automatically. It has a new temperature sending unit.

Unplug the two-wire coolant temperature sensor while the ignition switch is on. The engine computer should turn the radiator fan on by default. If it does, the system is working. A lot of GM engines have to get uncommonly hot before the fan turns on, possibly as high as 226 degrees.
