Misfires in park

When the SUV is in park running it misfires up and down but does not shut off. At the same time if you lift the hood you can smell gas and exhaust on top of my gas gauge not working. Replaced spark plugs and wires filters and it continues to do it everyday. It feels like it does not want to get up and go normally as before a little slower. I am lost cannot figure it out.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

I have to get some clarification. When you say it misfires, is it setting the check engine light to stay on when the engine is running? Have you checked for trouble codes? Or, when it idles are the RPM's going up and down?

If you smell raw fuel, that is a concern because any fuel leak is dangerous.
