My truck recently showed a code p0507 Idle control system/motor RPM higher than normal.
I’m aware that the ACV is in the throttle body as it is electric so I replaced the throttle body and re learned it and the code popped back up less than 10 miles. What can be the problem and how can I fix it? Thank you

Sounds like its either a vacuum leak or a clogged air control valve.

But since you changed the idle air control valve when you got a new throttle body its most likely a vacuumed leak check all lines hoses parting line areas where a leak can occure. Good luck

I don’t think it as an air control valve as the throttle body is electrical and I thought about the same thing a vacuum leak the throttle body is new, and it still threw the code.

Thank you Mechtrix. I will inspect the hoses well and let you know if that was the issue. Thank you

Yes. Check for leaks but also check the IAC valve since the code indicates that the problem is there. Got to find it I believe on this vehicle it is held in by one bolt and pulls straight out and has a 2-wire plug.

Should be right near or on the throttle body.

If you pull it out you can sometimes clean them with an old toothbrush and some spray cleaner, but I usually just replace them since theyre usually pretty cheap. Hope this helps
