Car runs fine, but intermittently stalling every couple days. I replaced the purge solenoid valve and small u-shaped hose. The car ran good after that for a couple days then stalling again. I checked the fuel cap it seemed tight. I can’t see any cracked or leaking hoses. Can it be a fuel pump problem? Need advice.

Hi,

The code indicates a large EVAP leak. Usually, something is broken, disconnected, or rusted.

If you haven't already, check the fuel tank filler tube for rust holes. Also, have you had the fuel cap tested? It can be faulty.

I attached the evap system schematic below. (See pic 1 below) Check as many of the things you can. Also, make sure the PCV hose is not cracked or disconnected. (See pic 2 below.)

If you are unable to locate the leak, then it would be a good idea to have the EVAP system smoke tested. Smoke is injected at very low pressure into the EVAP system. If there is a leak, the smoke will come out at that point.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
