How can I tell whether this is a temperature sensor issue, a thermostat or a water pump? As am getting different videos where people did all 3, so hard to tell which is which.

This is a code for the sensor circuit being to high so id go ahead and change the sensor first and check all the wires leading to and from the sensor to make sure theyre tight clean and not melted or damaged best of luck ".

Yep, I agree with MECHTRIX, I would change the sensor and then clear the codes,

P0118 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit High Input

Here is the sensor location which is right below the throttle body. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Hi, I went ahead and took out everything in the way to replace the sensor to find the wires have come off from the pigtail connector, ordered another and installed it, confirmed via scanner that temp changes when I unplug it and plug it. Put back everything, now neither fan come on with ac on. I cannot tell if the compressor is kicking on or not as these are the types of compressors that does not have a front clutch like the old cars so I can't tell, and I don't hear anything clicking when I hit the ac button. I also remember the fans stay on high before I fixed the sensor wire, hence why I suspected that the ECT maybe faulty, and then confirmed with the scanner that there was a code for it, hence why I wanted to change it. But now neither fan come on. I checked the connector to the fan and I am getting both ground and power. Only code I have now is B10A915

Even though I never unplugged the compressor harness I read many times online that it could be the water pump and compressor harness have been switched. And since it looks like someone has been there before me changing the water pump I said let me give it. A try, and dang I heard the compressor and now I have cold air, just in case someone encounters this issue. Both have the same plug, and the kink would make you think that one goes to compressor and the other to the pump, but they both can reach the pump and compressor
