I was driving home and I heard a metallic click and suddenly my clutch pedal dropped to the floor! What would cause this? My clutch is not hydraulic.

Hey Jessica L Smock,

It does look like the clutch on your vehicle uses a hydraulic system.

Did the click sound like it was from inside the car by your feet or from inside the engine bay?

If from inside the car have a look down at your clutch pedal, lift the pedal and trace where it would attach to. There will be a rod that goes through the bulk head that the pedal should be attached to. If it is attached and moving the rod then more than likely the slave cylinder/release arm is the issue.

It could be that the pin that connects the pedal to the rod that goes through the bulkhead has broken/fallen out. Let us know if the pedal is connected or if it has broken the pin.

Regards, Joe
